With the bride wearing a beautiful vintage dress and a sharp-dressed groom in a tailored 3-piece suit, this wedding had definite Mad Men style. A group of close family and friends looked on as Dominic & Kerry tied to the knot in Glasgow’s Park Circus, a venue which has Old World glamour in spades.

After months of battling low light and frosty outdoor shoots, this wedding marked the start of the 2010 summer season. This being Scotland in April there is more chance of rain than there is of warm rays, but, amazingly, the sun did actually come out as the couple left the ceremony.

We had another lovely engagment shoot last weekend – Angela and Gary are getting married on Skye this August and we took them out to have some pics taken around Glasgow. The newly-refurbished Penthouse Suite of Saint Jude’s Hotel provided the backdrop for our interior shots and then we headed for Pollock Country park for some fresh air. Luckily the rain held off and the sun even managed to cast a few rays through the clouds.

Being based in Glasgow, we’re fortunate to have one of the best professional printing labs in the country on our doorstep. (Well, not on our doorstep as such, its up a very steep hill, past a canal and next to an industrial smokestack but you get the general idea.)

This week we took some pics of the gorgeous albums they produce for us. Each album is designed by ourselves and manufactured to the highest standard by our printers. We have sample albums to show to interested couples and our new clients, if you’d like to see one for yourself please get in touch.

Despite Sam being in front of the camera and me being behind it, the day was most definitely a team effort. Our style was perfectly suited to the shots that we both wanted to get and Sam used new post-production techniques to create warm tones and a film-effect which complement the overall style of the wedding.

Last week we were delighted to be featured on the hugely popular Rock n Roll Bride website, a place where like-minded brides can source ideas and inspirations for alternative weddings. This is a site we both visited ourselves in the run-up to our respective weddings, so to have our work featured here for other brides-to-be was a huge honour.

Our final wedding of 2009 had a suitably festive feel, coming as it did a fortnight before Christmas. The UK was yet to experience the snow which would shut it down til mid-January, but winter was well underway with freezing temperatures and fairy lights in every window.

St Mirin’s Cathedral in Paisley provided us with a stunning background for the ceremony and both bride & groom were happy to pose for us outside despite the chill in the air. Luckily our efforts and their patience were rewarded with some beautiful shots of the wedding car and cathedral.

The reception was held back in Glasgow and the venue had been decked out with Christmas lights, candles and decorations making for some lovely lighting effects. Everyone let their hair down and we coaxed Ryan & Sheena outside for one last portrait using a slow-shutter speed and some torches. After a few attempts at getting a nicely-drawn heart we got what we wanted and they’ve chosen this image for their album.

Zoe writes a weekly Weddingsday post about all things matrimonial and got in touch asking to feature Sequoia’s New York wedding. We were only too happy to provide the photos and the backstory.

If you’re looking for a city centre venue with bags of Scottish charm, you can’t go far wrong with Sherbrooke Castle.  We arrived here to shoot the wedding of Gayle & Callum and were wowed by the stunning surroundings.  Best of all, its only 10 minutes drive from Mirrorbox HQ in the centre of Glasgow.

We loved having so many great Scottish details to capture and Gayle & Callum are lovely people who are a joy to photograph.  We had a great time exploring the grounds getting relaxed and happy shots of the newlyweds.  This is the best kind of wedding to work at – a sunny day, gorgeous location and a great couple to work with.
